Vegetable and Salty Cheese (“Bulgarit”) Patties

  • 100 gr sugar-free halva
  • 100 gr butter or butter-flavored margarine
  • 4 tablespoons sugar-free silan (date syrup)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar substitute
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder
  • 2 cups rice crispies
  • 200 gr sesame seeds, roasted
  • 100 gr sunflower seeds, roasted
  • 100 gr nuts, toasted


  1. Melt together halva, butter, silan, sugar substitute and coffee, in a large pot, over a medium heat.
  2. Stir until a uniform mixture is obtained.
  3. Remove from heat and add rice crispies, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and nuts.
  4. Spread mixture in a greased or lined baking pan so that layer is about 2 cm thick.
  5. Refrigerate until hard, about 30 minutes.
  6. Cut into squares and store in the refrigerator in a closed container.
